About

The Office of Continuing Medical Education of the Brody School of Medicine provides a variety of activities developed for physicians and other health professionals and designed to reflect the constantly expanding body of knowledge which impacts the practice of modern medicine.
The Office of Continuing Medical Education approves and manages the Continuing Medical Education activities offered by both the Brody School of Medicine and the Eastern Area Health Education Center (AHEC).

The Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education of the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University also serves as Executive Director of Eastern AHEC. Thus, through the Office of CME, a linkage between the School and the AHEC provides a collaborative vehicle for the production of continuing medical education activities at both the community and the regional level.

The Associate Dean for CME is responsible for assuring that the Office’s activities are in compliance with accreditation essentials. The Director of CME is responsible for the administration of the Office and production of learning activities.

The CME Advisory Committee of the Brody School of Medicine, composed of departmental and private practice representatives, establishes policy for the program and, when indicated, reviews, approves, and monitors continuing medical education activities provided by the School.

Brody School of Medicine at ECU offers over 40 grand rounds and case conference series. For more information email: cme@ecu.edu.
